In the year of the 85th anniversary of the defense of Mogilev and the Dnieper line, the activists of the Oblast search historical and patriotic club "VIKKRU" have planned several search expeditions. For more than 30 years "VIKKRU" members have been researching previously unknown facts about the history of World War II. During their search expeditions, they have recovered the remains of approximately 2.000 Red Army soldiers who went missing during the Great Patriotic War. The names of 170 soldiers were identified from unknown graves using medallions and personal belongings. Additionally, more than 20.000 names were identified through archival documents.
