Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania allows opening of border with Belarus until 30 November
17.11.2025
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania admitted that two closed checkpoints on the border with Belarus may be open until 30 November. At the moment, traffic through the Shalchininkai checkpoint (Benyakoni) is completely closed, and only persons for whom exceptions have been made can pass through the Medininkai checkpoint (Kamenny Log) — diplomats and those who deliver diplomatic mail, as well as persons traveling in transit to or from Kaliningrad. In addition, citizens of the republic itself, other EU countries, as well as foreigners with temporary residence permits in Lithuania and humanitarian visas can return to Lithuania through the Medininkai checkpoint. In exceptional cases, other persons may cross the border through the mediation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
