Lithuania has prepared a plan for the complete closure of the automobile border with Belarus
27.10.2025
Vilnius has prepared a plan for the complete closure of the border with Belarus. This was stated by Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene. It is planned to accept him on Wednesday 29 October. EU diplomats and citizens will not be affected by the restrictions. This may mean that the checkpoints that Lithuania closed on at 23:30 26 October will not open in the near future. Traffic has not been restored there yet, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported. One of the reasons for blocking the border was previously mentioned by Lithuanian sources — today's meeting of the National security Commission. But given the recent statements from Vilnius, this is not a reason. Currently, almost 1.600 trucks are registered in the electronic queue for departure to Lithuania. 420 cars are also expected to leave.
