International students at Vitebsk State Medical University were introduced to Maslenitsa celebration traditions

From traditional round dances and fiery dances to sports competitions, Vitebsk State Medical University celebrated the end of winter. One of the highlights of the celebration was a pancake-eating competition. The culmination was the burning of an effigy. This holiday is special for the university, as representatives of many countries are introduced to this Slavic tradition. Students from over 50 countries study at VSMU, ranging from Russia and Turkmenistan to Egypt and India.
