International Day of Persons with Disabilities
03.12.2025
In 1992, the United Nations General
Assembly proclaimed 3 December as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Dialogue platforms,
forums, and trade fairs are held
in Belarus
on this
day. The goal is
to promote the rights of people with disabilities in all
spheres of public life,
as well
as to draw the attention of the general public
to the problems of people
with disabilities.
More than half a million people
with disabilities
live in
Belarus. This is about
6% of the population. The
country has built a support
system for families with such children: from financial benefits
and labor
guarantees to free
rehabilitation and inclusive
education.
