Catholics of Belarus celebrate Christmas Eve

Belarusian Catholics and Protestants celebrate Christmas Eve together with the whole world today. A sacred atmosphere prevails in the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church (like the other 500 Catholic churches in Belarus) is in final preparations. Christmas symbols is everywhere, and the focus, as always, is on an improvised bible cave with the main evangelical characters. In the evening, the head of the Catholic denomination of Belarus, Metropolitan Joseph Stanevsky of Minsk and Mogilev, will celebrate Christmas Mass in the church.
