Belarus celebrates the Day of Fatherland Defenders and Belarusian Armed Forces. The leadership of the Armed Forces of Belarus, led by Minister of Defense Viktor Khrenin, laid flowers at the Victory Monument in Minsk. 23 February is rightfully considered a national holiday in the republic, a day of remembrance for the courage and heroism of all generations of defenders of the Fatherland who defended the freedom and independence of their homeland. Festivities are taking place throughout the country.
