19 January is Rescuer's Day in Belarus
The President congratulated the representatives of the Ministry for Emergency Situations on their professional holiday. Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his sincere gratitude to the veterans of emergency management agencies and departments, who laid the foundation for the department's current success. The firefighters of the Ministry for Emergency Situations perform a range of tasks — from extinguishing fires to eliminating major man-made accidents. Every day in Minsk alone, 101 receives more than 1.500 calls, which is the busiest call center in the country. The motto of the Belarusian rescuers is "Help is Near". Our specialists are known all over the world as one of the best in their field. Year after year, they prove this with their achievements on sports grounds and, of course, in practice — saving lives every day. The ZUBR special squad is accredited to participate in international humanitarian rescue operations.
