Working visit of the President of Belarus A. Lukashenko to the Sultanate of Oman
Today the head of state visited the Sohar port and free economic zone. The port was built 23 years ago, is located on the shore of the Gulf of Oman, handles more than 1 mln tonnes of sea cargo per week and receives about 3.500 ships a year. This is a very important facility for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation — a major logistics point through which Belarusian goods will be able to go as well. Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman will develop a roadmap for cooperation. The President told the journalists in Muscat the day before. The agenda of the Belarusian leader's visit is extremely rich: Aleksandr Lukashenko and our delegation held a number of talks with the Sultan of Oman and the country's cabinet. There were also one-on-one talks. The President also visited the National Museum of the Sultanate. This is a real visiting card of the capital Muscat. By the way, the secretary general of the museum complex has Belarusian roots.
