Working visit of Belarus President to Irkutsk
Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived on a working visit to Russia. Aircraft number 1 landed in Irkutsk. Belarus and Irkutsk region have a long-standing and strong relationship. The Russian region is an important partner both in trade and in the investment and cultural spheres. Also, Belarusian mining and quarry equipment, trucks, and passenger transport may be of interest to Irkutsk region. Mutual interests also include forestry and construction. Belarus and Russia are known to pay special attention to the development of their own aircraft industry. The Russian aircraft industry is faced with the task of implementing large-scale projects to increase the production volume of civil aviation aircraft. Belarusian enterprises have long been involved in solving this problem; they are helping with the supply of aviation components, units and assemblies.
