The President is again in the west of Belarus today. This time, he held a detailed conversation on the seasonal problems of the agro-industrial complex at the Olekshitsy agricultural enterprise in the Berestovitsa district. The country has already harvested a third of its grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat, and millet). The undisputed leader is Grodno region, the yield in the region is over 49 centners per hectare. For comparison, in Gomel region the figure is slightly over 20 c/ha. Almost half of the area has been cleared in the Brest region, and just over 15% in the Vitebsk region. The President inspected how grain-harvesting equipment is used and placed emphasis on cultures of early maturation. The head of state also looked at the technology of raising cattle at one of the dairy farms. His strict requirement is to eradicate high mortality rate among calves, and transfer calves from negligent organizations to where they will be cared for properly.
