Weaknesses in administrative process discussed at Independence Palace
The practice of applying administrative responsibility measures, and future changes in legislation were discussed today at the meeting with the President. The subject is one of the burning ones. Firstly, due to statistics. In less than 5 years, 16 million violations have been recorded, 3.5 million people have been brought to justice. In more than 80% of cases, administrative sanctions relate to road safety. However, the punishments are not always fair. The President emphasized that the main criterion for work is not the number of violations discovered and the fines issued, but prevention and a real reduction in misconduct. The results of this meeting will become the basis for the work of the expert commission, which will improve the procedure and conditions for bringing to administrative responsibility. By July 2020, the corresponding bill should be on the President’s table. And only after the approval by the Head of State, the document will be submitted to parliament.
