Visit to Chruch of Nativity of Christ in Ostroshitsy

Orthodox believers celebrate Easter. The day before, the President of Belarus shared the joy of the Resurrection of Christ with the believers. Together with his younger son Nikolai, the Head of State attended a festive divine service in the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Ostroshitsy. Together with the rector of the church, Archpriest Alexander Zimnitsky, the President of Belarus lit a festive candle at the icon of the Resurrection of Christ. The head of state donated the icon of the Resurrection of the Lord to the temple. In turn, the President was presented the Iberian Mother of God Icon, one of the most famous and revered in the Orthodox world. Alexander Lukashenko warmly communicated with the parishioners, congratulated them on the holiday and treated everyone with the President brand chocolate.
