The President presented state awards
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has conferred state awards on honored representatives of various spheres. The President emphasized the symbolism of the ceremony. After all, the Great Victory and preserving the memory of it are part of the national idea. Belarus lost every third man in the largest war in the history of mankind. A huge price for the peaceful sky — and every heir of the generation of the victors should remember it. Eight peaceful decades test us for strength almost daily. Especially in the years of independence. That is why people in shoulder straps are always on duty. Today among the awardees there are traditionally many representatives of the power bloc. The heads of regions, enterprises, agrarians, scientists are also honored. Everyone at his workplace makes a huge contribution to the development of the country. Including people of creative professions. The grandiose project "Marathon of Unity", which covered the whole of Belarus, has clearly demonstrated this. The President wished that this day should not become a finishing pedestal, but a starting point on the way to new achievements.
