The President of Belarus met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan
Minsk and Bishkek have room to grow. This opinion about the prospects for the development of relations between the countries was expressed by Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with the Speaker of the Kyrgyzstani Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev. The delegation under his leadership arrived in Belarus the day before at the invitation of the Council of the Republic. Parliamentary diplomacy helps develop interstate relations, which is especially important against the backdrop of a difficult global situation. Legislators use contacts to strengthen friendship and cooperation. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in mutual trade turnover between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. There are many points of contact – from the agro-industrial complex to industry. Alexander Lukashenko proposes to strengthen regional cooperation following the example of Belarus-Russia cooperation. Active participation of parliamentarians can help with that. Kyrgyzstan is currently working on infrastructure projects. The experience and developments of Belarus can be useful in their implementation.
