The President of Belarus met with the Governor of the Vologda Region of Russia
It is the largest industrial center in the northwestern region of Russia. Our trade turnover last year amounted to almost $680 million. But now there is a slight decline in dynamics. The priority is to balance trade. Important areas of economic partnership are import substitution and industrial cooperation. Belarus is ready for cooperation in absolutely all areas, from industrial construction and supply of building materials to elevator equipment. The head of state proposed identifying several flagship projects in each key sector, including livestock farming and agricultural processing. The governments will have to inform about the results of joint work once every six months. Alexander Lukashenko also invited the region to become a participant in testing new Amkodor brand vehicles. Their serial production will begin at a plant in Karelia. This initiative is in line with the goal of avoiding duplicate production. We locally create centers of competence and production in large regions and from there we supply the necessary product to other regions of Russia, said the President.
