Europe will soon open up for Belarus and Russia — it will not be able to exist without us. This was stated by the President at his meeting with the Mayor of Moscow. Sergei Sobyanin has arrived in our country today on a working visit. Aleksandr Lukashenko said: Moscow is our native city. We have many points of contact. And Belarus counts on the development of cooperation with the Russian capital. Minsk and Moscow are developing high-speed transportation links. The President considers the highway through Minsk to Brest a priority. This is also an important direction in communication with Europe. Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that it is a matter of time. At the meeting they discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation, including the prospects of industrial cooperation. Moscow is a key partner for Belarus among the subjects of the Russian Federation. Last year, the trade turnover amounted to more than $6bln. In 2024, the same figures were reached in October. By the way, last time Sergei Sobyanin came to Minsk in 2016 to participate in the Days of Moscow and the Third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
