The President approved amendments to the codes on criminal liability

Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the law "On Amendments to the Codes on Criminal Liability". We shall remind you that the relevant bill was submitted by the President to the Parliament in August. In fact, it is about strengthening the humanistic component in the criminal and criminal procedure legislation. In particular, it revises the sanctions of 97 offenses. Of these, 65 have been supplemented with alternative, more lenient types of punishment. Previously, almost a third of the offenses contained imprisonment as the only possible punishment. Changes in the amount of punishment have also affected more than 3 dozen offenses.
