The Head of State decided to postpone the increase in tariffs for housing and communal services for the population
05.02.2026
Aleksandr Lukashenko has decided to postpone the increase in tariffs for the population in the field of housing and communal services from 1 January to 1 March, 2026. The government made a corresponding proposal to the Head of State, and the President supported it. The increase in utility tariffs was stipulated by the Decree. By the current decision of the President, the planned change has been postponed to a later date. According to preliminary estimates, 45% more heat, electricity and natural gas were used for heating in January 2026 than in December 2025. This, in turn, should lead to an increase in household heating bills. The decision was made based on approaches to avoid additional burden for citizens when paying for housing and communal services.
