The first-ever official visit of Aleksander Lukashenko to the DPRK came to an end
At the airport, the Head of the Belarusian State was personally greeted by the Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un. The leaders of the countries bid a warm farewell. Several hundred people and an orchestra were present at the ceremony, along with the members of the delegations. On 26 March, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Kim Jong Un held official talks in Pyongyang, announcing the beginning of a new stage in the relations between the two countries. As a result of the talks, a treaty of friendship and cooperation was signed between Belarus and the DPRK. The parties have also signed about a dozen agreements and memoranda on cooperation in specific areas, including education, healthcare, agriculture, culture, physical education and sports, information, and cooperation through the BelCCI and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
