The draft law on the status of chairmen of base-level executive committees was discussed with the President
The President discussed the draft law on the status of chairmen of base-level executive committees. Opening the meeting, the Head of State recalled that the Presidium of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly considered the relevant draft decree in November 2024. Many suggestions were made then. Today, the task is to make a final decision on all the issues related to enhancing the role of district and city executive committees. At the same time, the President emphasised that raising the status of the chairman of the executive committee means a significant increase in their responsibility for the development of the city or district. "These suggestions should expand the powers of base-level executive committees and their chairmen in order to significantly improve the economy and living standards of people in the respective territory", said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
