Tajikistan hosts CSTO leaders summit
Today Tajikistan hosts the Session of the Collective Security Council of the military-political bloc. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that this year has not contributed to the improvement of the world situation. The principles and norms of international law continue to be grossly ignored. Alexander Lukashenko noted the escalation of tension around Afghanistan. Incidents involving migrants and refugees have an international hybrid threat hue about them. The migration crisis, among other things, was the reason for building up NATO's military potential on the western borders of the CSTO. All this creates conditions at our borders for military provocations and incidents. This situation does not contribute to the strengthening of security, Belarus President stressed. The final declaration, which was adopted by the leaders following the meeting, emphasizes their determination to consistently work to strengthen international and regional security and solve problems peacefully. A package of documents on the development of cooperation in the military sphere was approved.
