State and development of mineral resource base of Belarus discussed at a meeting with the President

It is important for the country to have its own mineral resources, since they are the key to sovereignty and stable economic growth. Aleksandr Lukashenko set the task of more intensive and efficient development of mineral deposits. The natural resources that lie on the surface were well studied in Belarus. The President has ordered to step up geological exploration works. For example, Belaruskali has a well-established scheme "from exploration of deposits to production". It is necessary to strengthen efforts in other areas, Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced. The Belarusian leader drew the attention of the meeting participants to the fact that the country still has no uniform control over minerals development. Today, many agencies look after their own interests. Less than half of the mineral resources produced are extracted, which is economically ineffective. Three drivers of growth will help the country develop further: efficiency, import substitution and export.
