Solemn ceremony was held at the Palace of Independence

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented state awards to distinguished Belarusians in various fields and general's shoulder straps to representatives of senior officers and commanders. The solemn ceremony traditionally took place on the eve of the Women’s Day at the Palace of Independence. The head of state drew attention to the fact that the ceremony corresponds with the Year of Peace and Creation. In Belarusian society, women who have chosen the difficult path of motherhood enjoy special respect. Addressing the men present at the ceremony – officers and generals, the head of state stressed that they are also the personification of the Year of Peace and Creation, because they are the guarantors of protection, sovereignty, independence, and quiet and peaceful life. According to the President, the awards and new shoulder straps, which the participants of the ceremony received in a solemn atmosphere, symbolize the recognition of great personal merits, confirm the level of professional skills and high confidence of the Belarusian people.
