Report on the development of sports under sanctions
The President of Belarus heard a report on the development of sports under sanctions. Everyone who is responsible for this area was invited to the meeting at the Palace of Independence – the Sports minister, deputy prime minister, deputy head of the Presidential Administration and head of the NOC. Alexander Lukashenko started with criticism. There is a base, the sports infrastructure in the country, but there are no results. And it's not about sanctions, the President is convinced. Unfair restrictions, on the contrary, should encourage athletes to fight back. The agenda also included a draft decree "On measures to stimulate the achievement of high sports results". The position of the President is simple – the encouragement and support of athletes is possible only for high performance.
