Readiness to introduce biometric IDs in Belarus discussed at meeting with President

The readiness to introduce biometric IDs was discussed at a meeting at the Palace of Independence. The ID card will be used inside the country, while a biometric passport is needed for travels abroad. The President generally approved the introduction of biometric IDs, but instructed certain points to be finalized. The date from which such documents will begin to be issued has not yet been determined. It will be suggested to the President in the draft decree when all the nuances are taken into account.
