President signs Belarusian People's Congress bill into law

Alexander Lukashenko signed the law "On the All-Belarusian People's Congress". According to the document, the legal status of the assembly has grown significantly. Now it is not only an advisory body, delegates are endowed with a wide range of powers. At the meeting, they will approve the program of socio-economic development and the concept of national security, decide on the appointment and dismissal of judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, as well as members of the CEC, take the initiative to the President to hold a republican referendum. Decisions of the All-Belarusian People's Congress are binding and can be linked to national security.
