President of Belarus participates in the climate summit
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has taken part in the World Summit to Combat Climate Change, which was held in Azerbaijan. This is the twenty-ninth session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Baku is hosting about 80.000 foreign guests these days. More than 50 heads of state and government have confirmed their participation in the large-scale event. In his speech, Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined the national position of Belarus on the issues on the climate change agenda and the measures that the international community should take to address the challenges arising in this area. On the margins of the summit, the President of Belarus held a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders of the states.
