President of Belarus congratulates the people of Latvia
Today Latvia celebrates the national holiday — Independence Day. The President of Belarus has sent a letter of congratulations to the people of Latvia on the Day of Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that it has been the destiny of the peoples of the two countries to live in peace and harmony for centuries. And to this day Belarusians feel real sympathy for their neighbours from Latvia. "In today's difficult circumstances, we are very pleased that those of you who have visited Belarus at least once have always kept in your memory and in your heart, apart from the images of picturesque landscapes, well-tended fields and tidy meadows, safe and cosy towns, villages and settlements, the sincerity and care of Belarusians, readiness to help and forgive, to show understanding and compassion to every person regardless of race, religion, nationality", the message of greetings reads. Belarus opened its doors to the residents of Latvia and called on them to cherish ordinary human ties.
