President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko pays working visit to the Sultanate of Oman
On 15 December, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said held talks in Muscat. The leaders of the two countries discussed the state and prospects for the development of relations, areas that could give additional impetus to bilateral cooperation. The heads of state also exchanged views on the current international agenda. The talks were preceded by the welcoming ceremony for the President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko. It is noteworthy that the format of the visit of the President of Belarus is a working one, but the entire ceremony almost fully corresponds to the status of an official or state visit. Guard of honour, the anthem performing, volleys of artillery guns. All these and other things are a sign of special respect of the host country. The leaders of the countries held extended talks with the participation of members of the delegations. Then there was a one-on-one meeting. And traditionally, as usual during such visits, they exchanged gifts. An official reception in honour of the President of Belarus was also held in Muscat on behalf of the Sultan, where the leaders of the two countries continued the communication started in the morning.
