President meets with Vitebsk region government officials
The President of Belarus held a meeting with the government officials of the Vitebsk region. The reason behind the visit is to present the new governor, Aleksandr Subbotin. However, just like in Mogilev the day before, the first thing the head of state asked was what the situation in the region was like. It started with social policies, the main one being health care. The situation with COVID-19 has stabilized here. By the end of the year, it is planned to vaccinate half of the region's population with the first component. One problematic issue is the reconstruction of the regional hospital. The President instructed to repair the facility. The head of state paid special attention to the issues of social workers' wages, the state of affairs in culture, education and housing construction issues. The daily exam for officials is working with people. The task of the governor and local authorities is to raise the confidence of the population. A significant part of the conversation was devoted to the situation around Belarus. In particular, the issue of sanctions.
