President holds meeting to discuss measures to ensure sustainable operation of economy and social sector
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a government conference to discuss priority measures to ensure the sustainable operation of the economy and the social sector amid the global epidemiological situation. The meeting was attended by top-ranking government officials, governors and aides to the president. Belarus pays close attention to the current epidemiological situation: from providing the population and the health care system with protective equipment, to the general morbidity situation. In the current conditions, nonetheless, key sectors of the country such as construction, IT, woodworking, food and pharmaceutical industries showed good results. The government should step up efforts to fulfill major economic indicators, Belarus President said.
