President calls meeting to discuss national security

On 30 July Belarus President called an urgent meeting of the Security Council. The head of state was informed about the situation concerning the detention of more than 30 representatives of a foreign private military company in Belarus. The investigation committee is conducting an important investigation into the case. The participants of the session discussed a number of matters concerning national security. The head of state set a number of tasks for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Border Committee. Aleksandr Lukashenko also held a working meeting with Chairman of the State Control Committee. Acoording to Belarus President, state oversight should focus on preventive efforts.
