Political campaign to be held in strict compliance with law
Security during the election campaign was discussed the day before at the Palace of Independence. At a working meeting with the chairman of the State Security Committee, the Head of State emphasized that the political campaign in Belarus would be held in strict compaince with the law. State security is paramount. No one is prohibited from openly expressing their point of view, but the framework of the law must be respected. Provocations are unacceptable. Valery Vakulchik confirmed that all threats towards Belarus were anticipated. The President recalled that in the course of history Belarus was often divided into parts and annexed to different territories. And this can no longer be allowed; it is important to preserve the country's sovereignty and independence.
