New system of price regulation discussed with the President
The government presented to the Head of State a general vision of the fair price formula. The meeting on the new system of price regulation was held in the Palace of Independence. In 2022, price regulation was introduced in Belarus. For importers, clear limits of mark-ups were set, and then monthly limits of price changes were introduced. This made it possible to stop inflation and bring prices under control. Today the President is confident that the measures taken at a critical moment helped stabilise the situation in the consumer market. As Aleksandr Lukashenko said, "There should be no rigid methods of regulation, so as not to harm the economy. We should not excessively restrain the prices of manufacturers. And the role of the state henceforth should not be to supervise, but to create clear working conditions and common rules of behaviour for all market participants. Businessmen and manufacturers should set their own prices, but they should have a track — a track of justice".
