Negotiations between Presidents of Belarus and Russia in St. Petersburg
Belarus and Russia have agreed to cooperate in aircraft industry. President Aleksandr Lukashenko stated this during the recent talks with President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg. It is a market beneficial for both Minsk and Moscow. The heads of state also touched upon further development of the Union State. In November, the Supreme State Council approved 28 joint programs. Now it is up to the governments of the two countries to put them to life. Separately, the Presidents discussed the plan of joint military exercises for the next year. The Belarusian leader also noted the success of the informal CIS summit. The event showed that the ex-Soviet republics, despite the pressure from the West, perfectly understand the situation and will not succumb to provocations. In many ways, this approach has led to the growth of mutual trade.
