Minsk proposes measures to deescalate tensions in the world
Official Minsk proposes a return to the negotiating table. This is the only way to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Even the West now realises that it is no longer worth prolonging the conflict. The future lies in effective mechanisms for global security. Initiatives are being voiced in Russia, China, and India. Belarus supports its partners and pursues a peacekeeping policy. Speaking at the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk, the President of Belarus proposed a number of measures to deescalate tensions in the world. Among others, he suggested withdrawing US nuclear weapons from the territory of Eurasia, as well as excluding the use of illegal sanctions without direct decisions of the UN Security Council, and creating a mechanism of guarantees that would prevent such a method of exerting pressure.
