Minsk hosting CSTO summit
International and regional security, tasks for the future and common interests of the CSTO member states. The summit of the military-political bloc will be held today in Minsk. It will be held under the chairmanship of the President of Belarus. The leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan arrived in the Belarusian capital the day before. They visited the Palace of Independence. At the meeting between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Emomali Rakhmon, the guest emphasized the successful chairmanship of the Belarusian side in the CSTO. The parties dwelt separately on economic issues. Minsk and Dushanbe rely on joint hi-tech ventures. Immediately after the meeting with President of Tajikistan, Aleksandr Lukashenko met with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov. Today the CSTO is comprised of 6 states: Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia. Minsk always takes initiatives in the military-political bloc, which are aimed at better cohesion and settlement of contradictions.
