Meeting on the formation of the National Assembly and changes to the electoral legislation
It is important that people make decisions that government agencies will rely on. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized this today during the discussion on the formation of the National Assembly. In February, at a referendum, the Belarusians determined the path of the country's further development. Now we need to build an appropriate legal foundation for these tasks. The necessary bills have been drafted. Today we discussed fundamentally new points. The assembly is a support both for the people and the authorities. The President noted that the 2024 elections, which will be held under the new rules, will be the largest campaign in recent years, but by no means the easiest. Updating the Electoral Code must be approached systematically and competently. Prior to the discussion of the main issues of the meeting, the Head of State focused on two more key economic topics: the harvesting campaign and price control. Here, everything should be based on justice.
