Meeting on the Belarusian nuclear power plant
The implementation of a strategically important project – the construction of the first Belarusian nuclear power plant – was the topic of the meeting with the President. This is one of the largest and most technologically advanced facilities being built in cooperation with Russia. The first power unit was put into operation several years ago. The construction of the second one is almost complete. BelNPP contributes to our energy security, replaces billions of cubic meters of gas and thereby saves foreign currency. The launch of the second power unit will make Belarus even stronger. That is why Alexander Lukashenko is paying special attention to the project. Ensuring the efficient operation of the plant and at the same time meeting all safety requirements are the most important guidelines. The second power unit of BelNPP is 98% ready. The first trial connection to the network is planned for April. The Ministry of Energy promises full readiness in October, which corresponds to the station commissioning program. Belarus imposes increased security requirements. The President urges not to chase the deadlines, but first of all ensure all the norms and regulations during the construction and operation of the BelNPP.
