Meeting between Belarus President and Governor of St. Petersburg
The results of cooperation between Belarus and St. Petersburg are impressive. A statement to this effect was made by the President of Belarus at his meeting with Governor of St. Petersburg Aleksandr Beglov. According to the head of state, the results of cooperation in 2022 are impressive. The trade turnover has increased by almost half a billion dollars and reached a record-high figure of $2.2 billion. This year the growth trend is still in place. Last year St. Petersburg purchased nearly three thousand items from Belarusian companies, from buses and trolleybuses to municipal vehicles. New line of equipment, components, and purchase of electric buses and streetcars is under discussion. St. Petersburg is carrying out a project to develop container transportation through the port of Bronka. One more important direction is the elevator renovation program. Besides, the region has become one of the main consumers of Belarusian foodstuffs in Russia. There are plans to develop tourist trade more actively.
