Lukashenko met with governors of Leningrad, Irkutsk regions
The prospects of Belarus-Russia partnership with an emphasis on the interregional cooperation and the implementation of future joint projects were discussed today at the Palace of Independence. Alexander Lukashenko met with the governors of the Leningrad and Irkutsk regions. The previous visit of the head of the northwestern region of Russia, Alexander Drozdenko, took place about 5 years ago. A lot has changed in Belarus since then. There are innovations in industry, agriculture, technology. The guests are interested in Belarusian equipment, passenger transport, agro-industrial complex. Trade with Irkutsk Region has quadrupled in the last 4 years. However, due to the crisis this year, it dipped. The parties intend to rectify the situation primarily due to projects in logistics, mechanical engineering, agriculture, construction.
