Lukashenko: KGB to protect Belarusians from harmful external influences
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has made a number of personnel replacements in the structure of the State Security Committee (KGB) and the Internal Affairs Ministry. New first deputy heads of these agencies have been appointed. Among the most important areas of work he also mentioned fight against corruption and the counteraction of extremism. The KGB will intensify efforts to prevent destructive external influence on Belarus. In general, the situation in the country is stable. The President emphasized that the committee should ensure continuity and constantly improve the professional level of its employees. The Interior Ministry will have to step up its work on fighting corruption. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that this work should be systemic.
