Issues related to the activities of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishers discussed with the President

13.11.2023
The development of the hunting industry in the country and beyond was the topic of the discussion. The President received a report from the head of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishers, Igor Shunevich, and the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of this area, Leonid Zayats. Over the past year and a half, the government has been improving the work of this organization and the hunting industry as a whole. A number of issues have become ripe for discussion at the level of the Head of State, on which no consensus has been reached in the government. Among those are the production of cartridges, proposals for regulating the number of Red Book animals and birds, adjustments to legislation on the circulation of weapons and ammunition, and the organization’s charter. In order to popularize hunting, a special sign was established - a reward for the trophies obtained, which Igor Shunevich handed over to the President today. It will be kept in the museum. In Belarus today there are about 38 thousand active hunters.
