Informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg

The President of Belarus is currently paying a working visit to Russia. Today, Aleksandr Lukashenko is taking part in an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state. The summit is hosted by St. Petersburg. Such meetings on the eve of the New Year have become a good tradition. Vladimir Putin invited everyone to the event back at the EAEU summit in Bishkek on December 9. The leaders summed up the results of the past year and discussed plans for further cooperation in the most relevant areas for the Commonwealth of Independent States. The meeting will continue tomorrow.
