Elections to House of Representatives and Council of the Republic scheduled for November 2019
The parliament must become a discussion platform for MPs holding different political views, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the organization and conduct of the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly. According to him, the parliament should be comprised of experts in various fields, professionals with state-minded thinking, well-educated representatives of industrial and agricultural companies, lawyers, scholars, locally known business people, politicians and public figures. The elections to the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic are scheduled for November 2019. The head of state stressed, that parliamentary elections 2019 should be honest and fair.
