Development of judicial system discussed at meeting with President
The development of the country's judicial system, innovations in work and high-profile criminal cases became topics of a detailed conversation between the President and the Chief Justice. The meeting continued the discussion that started in April. According to Valentin Sukalo, following the meeting, a national program for the development of the justice system for the next five years was formed. The document has 23 provisions. One of the topics was the introduction of digital technology. To date, a draft Law on Changing Codes has been developed, which allows audio or video recording of court hearings. The bill was adopted by MPs in the first reading, now it is being prepared for the second reading. Until January 1, 2022, it is planned to fully introduce digital technologies into the work of the Supreme Court and also to determine IT proposals for the entire system of courts of general jurisdiction.
