Country-wide conference on harvesting campaign

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko held a large conference on the issues of the harvesting campaign. The Palace of Independence hosted the heads of both chambers of parliament, officials from the government, various ministries and departments, government agencies. Governors, heads of all 118 districts and their deputies, directors of agricultural companies joined the meeting via video link. The conversation format itself is not new. During harvesting, every minute counts, there is no time to distract those working from their business. The topic itself is very relevant as the global food crisis is being talked about all over the world today. For Belarus, the harvesting campaign is always the number one topic. The task remains unchanged, which is to ensure food security for the entire country and to make reserves. Forecasts for the current harvest are higher than last year; for grain, the target is to bring in 10 million tons.
