Countering sanctions
The work of the economy under Western sanctions was the main topic of the president's conversation with the government. Since sanctions affect enterprises where tens of thousands of Belarusians work, the president keeps the situation under personal control. “It is important to make sure that ordinary workers and their families do not suffer. A real hybrid war is waged against Belarus, the purpose of which is to suffocate the national economy and eliminate direct competitors. Today, when the world economy is so globalized, no one will be able to economically suffocate a country in the center of Europe. Moreover, Belarus is a reliable partner in many markets. It is necessary to act more actively in African and Asian markets,” said Alexander Lukashenko. The president recalled that much depends on the active work of the government and the Foreign Ministry. “Even in these difficult economic conditions, there’s a positive dynamic. it is paramount to sustain it,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
