Aleksandr Lukashenko inspected Mozyr district, Gomel region. The southern regions suffered the most from the bad weather and still require close attention of the local authorities and public utilities. The situation is on the personal control of the President. It was discussed in detail at a selector meeting: conclusions were drawn, specific instructions were given, and deadlines were set. The President heard the reports of those responsible for restoring order in populated areas and forests. Aleksandr Lukashenko demands an explicit commitment to the undertaken obligations: everything must be done on time. Control at the highest level will not weaken. The July disaster damaged more than 40 thousand hectares of forests. One third of it is in the most affected Gomel region. Almost half of the damaged forest is subject to clear cutting. Aleksandr Lukashenko demands to reforest all the affected areas next year, while processing all the damaged wood. Residents of the areas affected by the bad weather should be competently provided with the necessary assistance. The President instructed to examine the situation in each specific case.
